An e-bike on Epo? No, a pedelec called Epo: matte black, reduced to the essentials – this is the first Cube pedelec presented our testers.Particularly striking are the powerful seat tube with integrated battery and powerful hub in – made performance visible. The first pressure on the pedal , of course, in the power mode, confirms the visual appearance: The pedelec motor pushes powerfully and provides constant drive without unmasking by noise as E-thruster. No mountain on which the speed indicator on the easily legible speedometer falls below 25 km / h. The switching mechanism balanced the chain in the test without interruption thrust of gear to gear – much smoother than with a combination of derailleur and midship.
Comparable, however, the power is in the test: it is at about the level of dynamic Bosch drive. Although the Epo-drive does not quite reach its maximum torque, but the missing kilos make the slightly offset. Very nice: All functions of the pedelec displays selects the driver with your finger on keys next to the handle, the change between the speed steps Eco, Normal and Power manages just playing. Sorrynot test in recuperation mode, the Epo, the necessary software update was the time of testing are not yet available.
